Sky Launched their 3D TV today (31/01/09) by broadcasting the Arsenal v Man United Match at only 9 hand picked locations throughout the UK.
We are delighted to confirm that Sportsters Edinburgh was the only Bar in Scotland to have show the match in 3D to specially invited customers who were all blown away by the coverage
As the audience looked on, drink in hand, and a crescendo of raised voices accompanied every goalmouth incident.
The 3D effect, with its emphasis on added depth, also exaggerated the size of the pitch and the speed of the ball in flight. In addition graphics seemed to hang in the air and the TV Logos appeared to fly out of the screen.
Edinburgh chef Simon Lunt, 27, said the experience was "awesome".
He said: "The picture is crystal clear, almost as if you are on the pitch. It feels great to be a part of broadcasting history."
The broadcast was to give fans a taste of live 3D football ahead of the April launch of Sky's dedicated 3D channel.
