CASTLE LEISURE GROUP SWEEPS THE BOARD AT INDUSTRY AWARDS CEREMONY
Stirling based Castle Leisure Group has come out on top after scooping three prestigious accolades at the recent Scottish Licensed Trade News (SLTN) awards in Glasgow.
The company - which has a selection of sports bars, pubs and nightclubs in Stirling, Perth, Edinburgh, Falkirk and Dumbarton - won the highly contested title of Independent Multiple Operator of the Year for the fourth year running. The judges commended the Group for its pioneering work in training practices at its nine venues across Scotland.
Paul Smith, Managing Director of the Group, was singled out for his efforts and claimed the coveted Industry Achievement Award for his ambitious expansions plans that have helped drive the company forward and led to continued growth. City nightclub in Edinburgh also beat off stiff competition to walk away with the title of Best Nightclub of the year.
Paul Smith, who established the Castle Leisure Group in 1981 with his brother Stephen, was delighted with the company’s success at the awards ceremony. He said: “Getting this sort of recognition is fantastic for everyone involved with the Castle Leisure Group. The awards can be attributed to the hard working, friendly staff that we employ at all our venues across Scotland.
“When we set up the Castle Leisure Group we wanted to create vibrant venues that offered people across Scotland a place where they could relax and enjoy themselves in a friendly atmosphere. The results from the awards ceremony demonstrate that we are doing just that. For us, it doesn’t stop here and we look forward to continuing to develop our venues across Scotland to ensure they are always at the forefront.”
The Castle Leisure Group’s head office is located in Stirling and the Group currently employ around 500 members of staff. Work has recently started on a new £5million City development in Falkirk which will be the largest licensed premises in central Scotland.
The Castle Leisure Group’s portfolio of venues include The Fubar and Sportsters in Stirling, City nightclub and Sportsers in Edinburgh and Perth and Rosies in Falkirk and Cheers in Dumbarton.
