Castle Leisure Group is one of Scotland's pre-eminent specialist licensed trade companies. Established in 1981 by brothers Paul and Stephen Smith, the company is one of the longest trading independent multiple licensed operators in Scotland.
Since then, the company has emerged as a strength to be reckoned with in the Scottish Licensed Trade; with their successful formula continuously mimicked by brewers and other pub companies. CLG has seen twenty six years of change and growth and has spent the past five of these streamlining operations, maximising opportunities and building the hugely successful Sportsters® brand.
Many of the team from the early days hold key roles within the organisation today. The directors are firm in their belief that the best people are grown from within and are a vital component of the company's success. It is through their commitment to this, that in June 2000 they were formally recognised as an Investor In People and have continued to meet the Investor In People standard since.
